Asa Upgrade Asdm

Cisco’s ASDM (Adaptive Security Device Manager) is the GUI that Cisco offers to configure and monitor your Cisco ASA firewall. In this lesson I’ll show you how you can enable it. First of all, make sure you have the ASDM image on the flash memory of your ASA. Current ASA/ASDM level is 8.3.1/6.3.1. Upgrade doc shows max level of 9.2.4/7.4.3+. I'm planning on using the ASDM upgrade wizard. I've gathered I should upgrade the ASDM first. Upgrade doc lists 7.4.3+, so I'm planning on upgrading straight to 7.6.1. ASA upgrade path is 8.3.x 8.4.5 9.2.1+, so I'm planning to follow that. If you are looking to upgrade or downgrade the IOS/firmware/image of the Cisco ASA then below mentioned steps will be helpful. Below are the steps to guide how to upgrade & downgrade the ASA IOS and ASDM image. Step 1: – Select the IOS Version and download it from the Cisco Software Download Center and save it in the local Computer. Upgrade a Software Image with ASDM 6.x Note: ASDM 6.x is supported only on ASA software image 8.x and later. Complete these steps to upgrade a software image on the ASA 5500 with ASDM: 1. Choose Tools Upgrade Software from Local computer. From the Home window of the ASDM.

Note: On older versions of the ASDM you will find the option under > Network (Client) access > Advanced > SSLVPN > Client Settings > Add.

3. Select Upload > Browse to the software you downloaded > Select.

4. The file should upload to flash memory.

5. And it will tell you if it has been successful.

6. Select the new software and, using the ‘up arrow’ move it to the top of the list > Apply.
