'For this release Irish musician Aine O’Dwyer was granted access to play the pipe organ at St Mark’s Church in Islington, North London. For several months she played the organ while the church’s cleaners were on duty, with the occasional deep drone reportedly. We were on our way to see a free-of-charge “organ concert” by experimental Irish musician, Aine O’Dwyer. She is perhaps best known for her album Music for Church Cleaners, a series of live pieces recorded as she improvised on a church organ at St Mark’s, Islington while the church was being cleaned or other activities were going on.

Over the course of several months, Áine O'Dwyer was given access to the pipe organ in St Mark’s Church, Islington while the cleaners were at work. Primarily a harpist, for this release she played and recorded organ improvisations live, which loosely use a graphic score (included in the vinyl release).
